Extension & Renovation

Project Overview

This Bath townhouse underwent a comprehensive full-home renovation alongside a carefully considered rear extension, designed to expand the living space while remaining true to the property’s historic character. The extension was constructed in traditional Bath stone, complemented by cast iron hoppers and downpipes, and finished with a limestone patio that creates a refined connection between the interior and the garden.

Inside, the new kitchen space was enhanced with a steel goalpost structure that we cladded in a seamless oak beam, adding natural warmth and a handcrafted feel to the room. Existing stone walls were thoughtfully exposed and restored to create striking, authentic features, showcasing the building’s original fabric. In areas where the stone remained covered, we applied breathable lime plaster to ensure the property can function as intended, preserving both comfort and longevity.

The result is a blend of heritage materials and modern craftsmanship, a renovation that elevates the home’s beauty, efficiency, and character while remaining firmly rooted in Bath’s architectural tradition.
